She made the lime into the peanut and smashed them all up!
It’s working!! The last 4 months have been the hardest of my life, but I’ve had three scans now throughout chemo and with each one its showing that IT IS WORKING!
The breast tumour started out the size of a lime and now we are down to a peanut! This is pretty remarkable in my eyes as, when the initial biopsy results came back, I was told the genetic make up of the cancer suggested it would take to chemotherapy slowly. It has been a gradual decrease but a continual one and now, 4 weeks away from the end, it’s shrank down small enough that the marker is needed to be inserted in case it disappears. When I heard the news that they wanted the marker I felt like this was a massive achievement. Its shrank enough to warrant the worry that it may completely disappear, so when it comes to surgically removing the surrounding tissue they won’t know where it had been.
So today I get my marker inserted, and start the last cycle of chemotherapy. Just 4 weeks to go, and still a long journey ahead, but to know I’m kicking cancer’s butt increases my hope that we can take that initial 2 year prognosis and throw it into dust!
